Birth Control

Health Educators can talk to you about pregnancy symptoms, birth control methods you can get, how to use them, their side-effects and effectiveness and where to get them.
And it's all confidential.

Emergency Contraception

Emergency contraception is safe and effective if you take it within 72 hours after sex.
This is not an abortion pill - it won't do anything if you're already pregnant.
We'll tell you where to get it when you need it, and how to get it ahead of time, so you're prepared for emergencies.

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

Health Educators can discuss general symptoms of sexually transmitted infections:

  • Chancroid
  • Chlamydia
  • Genital Warts
  • Gonorrhea
  • Hepatitis
  • Herpes
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Nongonococcal Urethritis
  • Pubic Lice
  • Scabies
  • Syphilis
  • Trichomoniasis
  • Vaginitis

They can't diagnose, but they'll refer you to a confidential clinic near you if you need testing or treatment. Educators can talk with you about STI treatment options and tell you about the best ways to prevent infections for you and your partner.

Pregnancy / STI Prevention

Educators can talk about ways to prevent unplanned pregnancy and STIs, including abstinence, condoms and dental dams.
